Program Infrastructure assets and networks - roads, tracks, water supply, energy & power transmission and distribution, information and communication - are the backbones of any society. In the 21st century, global trends are addressed for and by means of infrastructure: investment gap for infrastructure, digitalization, complexity of asset portfolios, maintenance budgets, reliability of service and network topologies, political and regulatory risks, and technological change. Managing infrastructure assets is identified as a set of management activities based on multiple knowledge and practice domains, that must urgently be adapted to master these trends. The emerging profession is able to deliver integrated asset management solutions within and among organisations and institutions. In doing so the profession is able to perform relevant perspectives in doing so. The executive education program CAS MIA is accompanying asset owner, asset manager and service provider (monitoring, capital, original equipment deliverer) of and for network infrastructures: to form a management system for the management of infrastructure assets that is standardized worldwide (ISO 55X, among others) to capitalize from assets and to finance projects and corporations to set up a tool box for the coordination of management perspectives relevant for integrated asset management solutions: Chief Technology Officer, Chief Finance and Investment Officer, Chief Digital Officer, Asset Health Manager, Critical Infrastructure Protection, and Chief Compliance Officer to set up semantic coordination for machine to machine interaction in industry 4.0 to align project management (configuration management, project selection) and asset management strategy formation to optimize their technology- and asset portfolios to mitigate political and regulatory risks to improve evidence-based knowledge management and data mining for dynamic capability in asset Management Successful participants will receive a certificate (CAS - Certificate of Advanced Studies) – a state-approved degree, of which max. 16 ECTS are transferable to alternative executive education programs at HSG, including the MBA-HSG or Executive MBA HSG. CAS programs of the University of St.Gallen fully comply with the high standards of the Rector's Conference of Swiss Universities (CRUS). CAS MIA HSG participants will improve module-wise the situation of a project / organization they are working for during the course. There is no final thesis. Module 7 will serve as stress test for the management system set up in modules 1-6.
